What is included in the price, and what is not?
Our standard car rental with driver quote is an all-in operating rate, not a stripped base price with surprises attached later.
- Included: the vehicle, an English-speaking or Indonesian-speaking driver, fuel for the agreed route, driver’s meals and daily allowance, air conditioning, mineral water, and standard vehicle insurance.
- Included on multi-day trips: driver accommodation when you stay overnight outside Labuan Bajo, and the driver’s return positioning if the route ends in another Flores town.
- Not included: parking and entrance tickets, national park fees, ferry or port charges, tolls where applicable, your own meals and accommodation, and tipping.
- Charged separately: overtime beyond the booked block (usually a per-hour rate agreed in advance), routes far outside the quoted area, and same-day itinerary changes that add significant distance.
If you are only moving between the airport and your hotel or harbour, a fixed point-to-point airport transfer is almost always cheaper than holding a car for a 5-hour block.
How much does high season add, and why does the fleet sell out?

- June to September is the peak. Good Hiace and Innova units are frequently committed weeks ahead, and the last available cars carry a high-season uplift of roughly 10–25% over the from-rates above.
- Christmas, New Year and Idul Fitri behave the same way, sometimes sharper, over shorter windows.
- Alphard-class and premium high-roof units are the first to go, and occasionally have to be repositioned from Bali, which changes the economics entirely.
If your dates fall inside those windows, book early rather than negotiate hard. We would rather tell you a vehicle class is unavailable than promise it and downgrade you on arrival.
What are the deposit and payment norms?
For single-day and short bookings, we normally hold the vehicle on confirmation and settle in full on the day of service, in cash (IDR) or by transfer. For multi-day charters, Flores overland routes and peak-season dates, a deposit of around 30% secures the vehicle, with the balance due before or at the start of service. Bank transfer, and card or online payment links where arranged in advance, are all workable. Every quote states the deposit, the balance, the cancellation window and the currency conversion basis before you pay anything.
How do you book and confirm a rate?
- Message us on WhatsApp with your dates, passenger count, luggage, pickup point and rough itinerary.
- We check live availability against the actual fleet — including Hiace group vehicles if you are travelling six or more.
- You receive a written quote: vehicle, hours, inclusions, exclusions, overtime rate, deposit terms.
- Confirm, pay the deposit if applicable, and receive driver details and plate number ahead of pickup.
Is the USD price fixed, or will I pay rupiah?
USD figures are a planning reference. Payment is normally in rupiah at the prevailing rate on the day, or in USD by prior arrangement. The written quote states which applies, so there is no ambiguity at handover.
Can I rent a car in Labuan Bajo without a driver?
Self-drive is possible but limited, and we assess it case by case. Flores roads outside town are narrow, steep and poorly lit, and most insurers and owners here prefer a company driver. For nearly every itinerary we recommend a driver — the price difference is small and the risk difference is not.
